Interview Now is a SaaS recruitment and talent acquisition product modernizing the hiring process for government agencies and first responders. They offer a modern recruitment platform that uses automation to recruit, screen, and connect top candidates to designated personnel over calls and SMS — all in real-time.

While doing customer research for a broad-based HR software idea, the founders discovered that local government agencies had complicated, and very specific, hiring requirements. Despite agencies having budget for software, nobody was building specifically for them. Interview Now decided it would. “Interview Now is a fantastic example of the power of ‘niche-ing down’,” says Calm Company Fund GP Tyler Tringas.

The company was founded by Rob Cate and Jorge Gonzalez. Cate has been in the HR tech space for six years, having previously cofounded the app Trommello to help companies find the best candidates through job competitions. He also has experience selling to franchises, startups, SMBs, and government agencies. He’s a keen artisan bread and pizza baker in his free time. 
Gonzalez has helped various tech companies grow in areas such as ecommerce, online payment processing, mobile applications, backend systems and data mining — he is passionate about building systems at scale. In his down time, he’s a self-proclaimed woodworker, with over 10 furniture pieces under his belt and counting and an advance scuba diver.
